Wedding season seems to be at its peak... for now anyway! Every time I think it couldn't get busier, it peaks even higher. I've been meeting with June brides and bridesmaids all month, and almost every day. It's been a joy, to say the least. They all have a special glow about them that makes me smile.
I've found treasures on Ebay for my most recent job.
Those out-of-print patterns can be wonders of wonders.
I also have an 1850-60's style day dress to finish before our first reenactment of the year~ coming May 1st. I'm designing it after this picture I found of an 1850's wedding gown. Of course, I'm making a few alterations to make it closer to the 1860's style, and my fabric is an authentic looking print with deep colors, but overall, I love this design:
I bought a crinoline at the Thrift Shop this afternoon~$1.50! Score! After I got home I saw that the inside of the tag said, "Made exclusively for David's Bridal". That made me giggle...
My new silver Apple should be coming in the mail soon, just in time for my next wedding photography jobs. I'm thrilled, so, so thrilled!
Anyway! I'm off to my sewing room to work on my next wedding job:
"Plum Elegance: A Bridesmaid Trio".
